Breaking Records, Saving Lives
It’s been said, “battling childhood cancer and blood disorders is a team sport—it takes doctors, nurses, researchers, family, friends, neighbors, and often times, complete strangers.” This idea of it taking a team was clearly evidenced in the success of the 2019 Today’s TMJ4 Sports Auction 4 MACC!
Let’s meet the team….
Media Partners & Auction Items
First and foremost, our media partners at Today’s TMJ4 have offered unwavering broadcast support of the MACC Fund and its Sports Auction since 1981; a tremendous partnership and integral part of the ‘team’ and success in behind the auction. During the entire week of December 9th, TMJ4 and it’s news team highlighted MACC Fund stories and encouraged it’s viewer to support the MACC Fund by bidding on the many unique experiences and memorabilia up for offer.
This year’s auction featured 63 unique packages with items contributed by organizations such as the Brewers, the Bucks, the Packers, the Admirals, the Wisconsin Badgers, Marquette University, Whistling Straits, the University Club of Milwaukee, Hidden Glen Golf Club, The Bog, Elite Fitness, the Wisconsin Athletic Club, Jeff Sports, Dutchland Plastics, Kinetic Sports Medicine, Koha Yoga, Trek, The Rock, Spire Fitness, Lucky Boy Fishing Charters, and on and on, and on.
Bidders and Sponsors
Enter the next part of the team, the bidders and sponsors. The MACC Fund was thrilled to have the folks from Sutton Transport Inc. generously match the first $10,000 raised via the auction! Long time partners, the Medical College of Wisconsin decided to then match the next $5,000 of bidding; two incredible ‘gifts of hope’ to the Sports Auction. It didn’t take long for those dollars to be matched, by then end of the second day, the auction had generated a little over $23,000 in bids, fulfilling all the matching gifts!
Breaking a Record
The bidding remained spirited all week and as the final seconds ticked off the clock, a total of $40,672 in bids had come through online, plus the $15,000 in total matching dollars resulted in a record total of $55,672 raised to fight childhood cancer and related blood disorders!!
From media support to the matching gifts and from generous experience and memorabilia donations to the enthusiastic bidders, it truly was a team effort to make the 2019 Today’s TMJ4 Sports Auction 4 MACC a success. Thank you to everyone who joined in the fight against childhood cancer and blood disorders by participating in the Sports Auction 4 MACC.
