Cody’s Wipe Out Cancer Night – Date Change

Cody’s Night has been moved due to school cancellations at Lomira and North Fond du Lac. The games will now be held on December 20, 2008 @ 6:00 p.m.

The Lomira Girls Basketball Team, in conjunction with the NFDL Girls Basketball team, will cap off a week’s worth of fundraising efforts for Cody’s Wipe Out Cancer Night benefitting the MACC Fund. The Lomira v. North Fond du Lac girls basketball games will be held at Lomira High School.

The event was organized to honor the memory of five year old Cody Weiglein, who died on February 11, 2008 after a courageous three year battle with a rare form of childhood cancer.

On February 11, 2005, Karin and Jerry Weiglein took then 2-year-old Cody to the doctor for a minor health problem. They were instructed to go straight to Children’s. The Weigleins stayed at Children’s Hospital for about 7 or 8 weeks.

Cody was released and was cancer free for about 6 months. When doctors found a spot on his lung, there was nothing more they could do. He passed away three years to the day that he was diagnosed with cancer.

Cody’s family wants to help fight childhood cancer. Cody’s Wipe Out Cancer night will include fun activities for kids, bake sales, a 50/50 cash raffle, and a regular raffle. Raffle prizes include golf outings, Bucks tickets, Badger Hockey tickets, an LCD TV and more.

All proceeds will benefit the MACC Fund, Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc
