MACC Fund Names Becky Pinter as the Next President and CEO

MACC FUND NAMES BECKY PINTER AS THE NEXT PRESIDENT AND CEO

T.J. Marini joins organization as Chief Development Officer

MILWAUKEE – The Board of Directors of the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund today announced that, after a search process that included both internal and external candidates, Becky Pinter has been named President and Chief Executive Officer.  Previously serving as Chief Operating Officer, Pinter has been with the MACC Fund since 2007. Longtime MACC Fund Board Member T.J. Marini also joined the leadership team and will serve as Chief Development Officer.

Pinter brings more than two decades of MACC Fund experience to her new role as leader, having served first as a go-to volunteer before joining the staff as Chief Operating Officer in 2007. Prior to joining the MACC Fund, Pinter led advancement efforts at Cardinal Stritch University, coordinating fundraisers and donations while also teaching students in an adjunct professor role.

Marini also brings previous MACC Fund experience, along with decades of expertise in financial services, to his new position as Chief Development Officer.

The MACC Fund, with help from an ever-expanding corps of committed sponsors, volunteers, corporations, teams, schools and individuals, has achieved remarkable success since its inception 43 years ago, when Jon McGlocklin retired from the Milwaukee Bucks and founded the organization with former long-time Milwaukee Bucks announcer Eddie Doucette. Since then, the MACC Fund’s mission has remained steadfast while expanding its reach with numerous annual events and personal and organizational relationships.

Since 1976, the MACC Fund has contributed more than $65 million to childhood cancer and blood disorders research. The MACC Fund has developed a strong structure and network in Wisconsin and the Midwest that will sustain the organization and continue to provide critical funding for research for cures and treatments.

Since its inception in 1976, the MACC Fund has contributed over $65 million for pediatric cancer and blood disorders research for diseases like aplastic anemia and sickle cell. MACC Fund supported research in Wisconsin benefits the treatment of children throughout the state, the nation and the world playing an important role in helping the overall cure rate for childhood cancer to rise from 20% to over 80% over the past 43 years. Yet, children can relapse and can have “late effect” issues which require more research.
