Looking Toward the Future: Grace’s Story

Grace was diagnosed at just 9 years old with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She faced many complications throughout her treatment including severe fevers reaching 106° and a fungal infection of the brain. At one point, doctors informed her mother that she had a 20% of surviving.

Now at 17, Grace is once again active and running on the cross-country team; they even went to State where Grace took 1st place! She excels in school and is enrolled in several AP courses. Grace is also looking into different colleges for next year and considering a career in the medical field. Grace is able to look toward the future.
