Russell Ware, MN, PhD, is Director, Division of Hematology; the Marjory J. Johnson Chair of Hematology Translational Research; Co-Director, Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute; Associate Director, Global Health Center; and Professor, UC Department of Pediatrics at Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital.

Russell specializes in sickle cell disease, hemolytic anemia, immune-mediated cytopenia, and PNH. His research focuses on translational hematology to improve our overall understanding of sickle cell disease, with the long-term goal of improving the lives of infected children.
